Microsoft has recently unveiled its plans to incorporate a text messaging system into its next generation Xbox 360 console, due out this coming fall.

The system allows gamers to send text messages by using a mini-keyboard that fits under the Xbox 360 controller to type and send messages on Xbox Live.

It is beleived that the text-messaging system will be available outside of Xbox live, for example on MSN Messenger.
